52 Weeks Growth and Change

52 week badge
This week is all about growth and change.
Kid's grow up so fast. And it has hit home with me this week watching our son pack and load the trailer.  This morning he left for college in Denver.  Our oldest daughter moved to North Carolina earlier this year, and in another year our youngest daughter will be graduating from high school and thinking about college.

Change is difficult for me, especially when it involves our kids leaving the nest.
But I couldn't be more proud of all of them for having the courage to go out on their own.

I've still got my youngest with me for a while yet, but I remember how it felt when my eldest left for university, a mixture of excitement and sadness. She's now finished her degree and back home living in the same area, so we see each other a lot.

Yes, it's hard to see them go, Alice, but remember they have that courage because they KNOW they have a loving place to depend on (and I'm not just talking about your house!)

Bless you! I'm certainly not looking forward to our kids leaving home... Sam enters his final year of school this week, so I imagine this will be our situation this time next year *gulp*

I cannot imagine how hard this is to watch, yet how proud you feel for their accomplishments and their growth! Such change for sure,...

It isa wonderful to see them grow and leave for their new lives, or stay, and just forge on from home. But they will go their own way eventually!

Yes it is hard to see them go. Just remember you taught him to be who he is. Be proud of your accomplishment too, as he forges his new life.

Sally's to kindergarten, Adrienne's to High School, and your's off to college. Mothers all who live with growth and change on a daily basis. It is a treasure to remember always.

I don't think I couldn't have said it better Marlene! (One thing, did you check the trailer to make sure all he took was what he was supposed too??? I always check my daughter...lol..she always goes through my bead, yarn and fabric stashes...)

I feel that is our job as parents: to give out children the keys to live their own lives. But it can be bittersweet.

Oh, it is so hard to see your child(ren) go off on their own. You will miss them so much!

I'm long since past going-to-school with my kids, who are all adults; but they are spread all across the country, one in Ontario, one in the Gulf Islands, and one in Calgary. It doesn't get any easier. Congrats to your kids for spreading their wings, and to you for letting them!

My oldest will be off to college in 3 years and I'm completely dreading it! I can't even image how hard this must be!

It is wonderful to see them have the courage and strength to fly. And you know you helped to grow that within them. It is bittersweet. It feels as if a piece of you is leaving but we all understand that it is all as it should be. (((hugs for your)))

Phew... I still have about 8 years to get used to that idea, so no words of wisdom from this mom :) I am sure you're proud of them, try to hold onto that positive aspect!
