Our Inspiration Photo
'America The Beautiful' |
I liked the curve of the billowing sails In the inspiration photo so I dapped two copper small circles from Vintaj. Then I used Ranger Patinas, the first layer Cinnabar and the second layer Verdigris. Then I ruffed them up with a Vintaj Metal Reliefing Block. The tiny red lampwork spacer beads are from Marshall Jodie.
I finished them off with two brass stars from Vintaj.

Love the patina on the copper discs exactly like they've been at sea...love them! xx
Love how you thought about the details in your design and created your own "billowing" component for these earrings. Lovely design!
I love what you did with the disks. Great job with the patina.
I just bought a dapper. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to know what disks you used from Vintaj.
The copper circles and stars are adorable. Wonderful design! And your photo is beautiful too!
Your disks came out perfectly - love the patina. I can say "great minds think alike" since I used some Ranger inks in one of my designs, too!
I just love the patina on those discs. When I first saw them, I was trying to figure out just what kind of stone they were.
I love the patriotic feel of your design! Your patina work on the copper discs was wonderful as well. Nice job!
I like how you took a very basic component -the copper disks- and then shaped and colored them to express your inspirations from the photo. Great job!
Great design - love these!!

The dapped and patinated copper discs are wonderfully nautical. Thanks for sharing the specifics of your patination process. Now I am a inspired the break out the alcohol inks and experiment. Very cool earrings!
That is a yummy patina you have cooking there! At first I thought they were beads, but wow, what a great idea to make that component your own! These are fun and flirty for those hot July days. Thank you for joining in the We're All Ears Challenge for July! Enjoy the day! Erin
