Our assignment this week is Celebrate.
Celebrating farm life, gourmet food, and Kansas!
Kansas gets a bad rap sometimes, but there is nothing better than eating fabulous food in a corm field.
I grew up in the country where we splashed around in creeks, and the summers were long and lazy. Weekends were always about church, family and country drives.
It can't get any better.

I want to be there! What a lovely post today, Alice!
Great photo. I lived in Kansas when I was in the 3rd and 4th grade in a small town and loved every moment of it.
How cool is that! I have never heard about dining amidst the corn rows but what a super idea. It shows that our earth's bounty is always elegant. Great post!
Great post Alice! Summer's sound like heaven there in KS! What great times!
They do something similar here on a local farm. It's reported to be an excellent meal.
Great idea for a celebration shot!
Alice, it sounds wonderful - eating in a cornfield and all of the traditional summer festivities. I drive by so many cornfields in MD on the Eastern Shore and judge the passing of summer based on how green they are or - sadly - when they start turning brown. Hope all is well on your end - thanks for sharing!
Sounds like a wonderful celebration! And wow, that is a huge table setting! Love the big gatherings of family and friends during the holidays! I miss that...
Enjoy! :-)
