The Challenge of Music

I always enjoy Erin's challenges and she comes up with great ideas to stretch our minds and creativity.
Having been born in the early 1960's  with so many great songs in the '60's and '70's (the best two decades for music in my opinion) it was difficult to choose just one song.

So I started looking at the bands in these two decades.
The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hindrix, The Who, The Doors, Led Zepplin, The Eagles, Jefferson Airplane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd and so many more. Still too many to choose from. In fact it makes my head spin.

Then I remembered the Coca-Cola Song I heard so often as a child and did a little research.
In 1971 the song was born one foggy day in London and ended with 500 people from around the world singing the song on a hilltop in Italy.
You can read more about the makings of the commercial and hear the song by clicking the link below.

My piece was inspired by the people of different lands, different colors ,different religions and ideals who stood together on that hill all brought together with a simple bottle of Coca-Cola.

The world would be a better place if we could just love more and hate less.

I remember THAT jingle and I am a Coke drinker--no Pepsi please. Great idea and I like the simple design that represents our complex planet. Great choice.

Love your song choice and the interesting history behind it. Your bracelet is perfect to represent the sentiment behind the music.

A totally iconic moment in history! I remember that commercial as well. But I had no idea of the story behind it. What a great message of persistence and coming together! Love your interpretation, it has a world market feel and I love it! Thank you for sharing your talent and your personal music playlist with us in the 3rd Annual Challenge of Music. Enjoy the day! Nice mix of colors and materials to bring it all together in perfect harmony! Now I want to go drink an ice cold Coca-Cola!

I can't stand the taste of Coke but I sure love their commercials and it was this song that started this life long affair. I love your design. It shows how much we all can shine when we work with others.

How well I remember! A fellow who was friends with my parents came to our house with a copy of that song--something to do with his work. He was so proud to be a part of that.

I love your piece. It is stunning and very expressive of the coke song.
