Thirty Words Thursday

The simplest of things in life are the most fun.
A mound of dirt is all that is needed for these kids to enjoy.
Stretching their imaginations
No electronics needed.

The Back Story

For years our family would  go on adventures every Sunday afternoon.
My dad led these adventures always thinking of new places to visit.
This is at my uncles's farm where a watershed was being constructed.
My kids and their cousins are at the top of the world and having a blast.

Grandpa pulling up the grand kids on a huge pile of dirt.
Grandpa is now 83 but still keeps going.
We don't have as many adventures any more but his grand kids will remember the good times.

What great memories for them! We went for Sunday afternoon walks in the woods and came home to a pot of soup that was simmering in the crock pot, some of my best childhood memories were of our Sunday hikes

What lucky kids! I grew up 'before' technology, so we used to play outside all the time, and in the holidays we'd go to our grandparents' in the country and go for long walks, climb trees, pick wild flowers (it was ok then!) have picnics and sometimes get lost. It was wonderful.

Kids and dirt, you can't go wrong. And that big pile is the mother lode! Wow! My grand boys would be on that for weeks

A pile of dirt and kids, it doesn't get better than that.

Seriously, kids can always make a game out of a mound of dirt. And grandpas can be such big kids too! :)

They are on top of the world! I love that. Kids can marvel at the things that we take for granted and are jaded by. What a wonderful thing to instill this sense of adventure in the everyday into them! Thank you for joining in the 30 Words Challenge! Enjoy the day. Erin
