Our assignment this week is to focus on color and how it affects our mood, feelings and perception of our surroundings.
It seems Spring has finally arrived here after some sleet and cold temps earlier this week. Across the road from our house is a field which the farmer planted with winter wheat. Just seeing that sea of green makes me smile. Our computer room faces the front of the house and I can see the tender shoots of green. At the end of June the wheat will be golden and swaying in the warm breeze. What a lovely sight to see. So as you might have guessed, the color I chose is green!
Rows of wheat
The tillering stage where 'leaves' are added and lengthen over time.
A sea of green!
There are 11 stages of growth from the first tender shoot to the ripened stage.
Sometimes, if I'm lucky, the farmer misses some of the wheat along the edge of the field at harvest time, and I will gather it for myself.
Thank you for stopping by. Please check out Sally's blog to see more color!!!

Lovely!! Spring it seems is finally starting to appear. We seem to be finally getting some sunshine here in the UK
Sea of green, beautiful!
My husband who grew up on a farm just walked past my computer monitor and said "pretty crappy looking wheat" I think it's a lovely colour of green!
Yes I chose green too! So peaceful and cool

Lovely! Green is my favorite color! and it is FINALLY everywhere at the moment :) that makes me very happy!!
Interesting! What do you do with the wheat you collect? I wouldn't have a clue, but imagining some tasty treat.
Love the first greens of spring too - a lovely sight indeed.
Just waiting on green here, I will take yours! It sure is beautiful, what a lucky view
Love all that green. What a great view you have.
Beautiful verdant fields!
Our fields are not green yet - but yours are beautiful! Enjoy the lovely spring :)
Alice, those are great shades of green and such a great reminder that spring has sprung. :)
The green of spring is spectacular. I would imagine it is quite fascinating to watch the wheat from beginning to end.
loving your new blog header. We're still waiting for spring, so grey and dreary!
Your green pic is really welcome. I can hardly wait for some green here.
Nothing like the first tender shoots of green. Anything green is nice at this time of year. Nice to be reminded of new life now but more stages to come.
Really beautiful - the green and the wide open spaces.
Lovely shade of green! I bet it looks really pretty in June, too!! It's fun to see things like this come to 'life' and change as they grow, isn't it?!
Our fields and yards are finally starting to show some green instead of the brown as well...it's so lovely! My favourite colour...love your pictures!
