One Crayon Color Blog Hop
Today is the day for Sally Russick's One Crayon Color Blog Hop. Participants were asked to choose a color and create a monochromatic piece in that color. I chose the color green for this challenge.
My inspiration came from a pretty green button that came on a package from Marcia. I started pulling out all the green beads I have in my stash, and settled on some vintage round beads, a lime green lampwork disc from HMB Studios, and a green coiled wire from Carol Dillman—my Bead Soup partner. As I was moving the beads around on the table I dropped the lampwork disc onto the button, and it looked so cute. I decided to glue the disc into the button, and then glue the button onto a copper circle. The vintage beads came together easily with copper wire, but what to do with the green coiled wire? Knowing I had only one shot at forming the wire, I decided to make a loop and attach it to a large Vintaj jump ring. I used Novacan Black Patina to tone down the copper to match the aged brass. The green coiled wire is slightly curved to fit the wrist better.

That is a cool design! It is amazing how all the different hues work so well together! And the coiled end for your clasp is awesome! Beautiful!
Alice I love the wirework on the bracelet...all the hues of green remind you of spring and the new budding life....wonderful bracelet!
How fun! I love your innovative use of the button and disc bead (I have several that I've had for years and haven't thought of anything to do with them)!
Fun design and love that wire element.
That is one gorgeous bracelet and that green coiled wire is just the spark to finish it off. Love the button stack too. I really get how you describe how things came together. Sometimes, you just have to move things around a bit more. Love what you came up with. Great job!
Fun! Very vibrant and spring like with all the different shades of green.
Oh, and I misread the name first time around and saw "Far Away". I thought that worked, too. :)
Hi Alice,

I just love your design. I don't know which I like more, that wonderful disc or your wire wrapping with the green wire. It is such a fun piece!
I really like the "rules" for this color challenge - working in a monochromatic color scheme....hehe, that's how I tend to work naturally. :-) Your green bracelet is so vibrant and beautiful - I love the combination of lampwork and wirework!
That is such a striking design and it hangs together so well - great work!
Absolutely gorgeous! I love how you've just let the elements speak for themselves. One of my favourites.
