I'm so excited to be participating in Erin's Third Annual Challenge of Color. As expected, Erin always adds a challenge within the challenge, making things interesting and allowing us to stretch our creative muse.
This time, Brandi selected 40 of the more than 120 NASA Earth As Art photographs for our color palettes.You can click on the photo below to see more. We were given two to choose from, or do both. I chose the palette below for the wonderful patterns and colors.
I must apologize for the horrible photos but I waited until the last minute to get them done, and the sun was not cooperating. The bracelet below is actually three separate bracelets which can be worn separately or together. From top to bottom: a short string of vintage beads from Sparrow Salvage, a string of chunky Prehnite beads from Rings & Things, and a string of matte cube 4mm Aquarius seed beads. All are finished with sterling silver.
I love how the colors work so well together, and sort of mimic the undulating lines in the inspiration photo.

I have to agree with Mary, the beads you selected are perfect compliments to the photo (and each other.) It would be so much fun to wear them all together, with a big, tribal silver bangle. Yum!

I agree, Alice, the different weights of the components makes the lines work together to mimic the mountain ranges. Clever to make separate bracelets!

Oh, Alice, these gemstones are gorgeous! You're right -- they do echo the undulations of the land in the photo, particularly the prehnite, which just looks like a bunch of beautiful sparkly (tiny) mountains!

Very pretty bracelet. I like the fact that you can wear them together or separate, and how they move like the lines in your palette.
I think the palette you chose is so unusual. The map looks like s fossil to me. 'Love the three bracelets! They look 'fossily" to me, too! Smart idea!
