Black and White Challenge

BW Badge

Today is the reveal of Sally's Black and White Challenge.
The only rules are that we have to use only black and white in our piece, though we can use wire, metal or chain in silver, copper, brass, bronze, white or black. We can also use crystals to accent the piece.
'World's Fair' is made with a gorgeous pendant from Hopemore, black onyx beads, glass pearls, and sterling chain.

'The Modern Wheel' made with a black and white lampwork ring from BlueHealer, and sterling chain.

I know this has brown in it but I wanted to show it anyway because it does have black and white as well.  I made this for my mom from beads my sister brought back from China a few years ago.  When mom passed away I got it back.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please visit the other participants at the list below.

What striking designs, Alice! Love how you have really put the spotlight on your focals in the first two. What special memories you must relive whenever you touch that necklace you made for your dear Mom!

Alice, your designs are all fabulous! I love the vintage look of the first one, but I'm totally in love with the second one with it's lovely lampwork focal. It's just striking and the simplicity is right up my alley; I'd wear this everyday! I also love the necklace you made your mom and I hope you feel connected to her when you wear it and that it comforts you. It's such a nice design and the beads are gorgeous!

Alice so much of this post speaks to me. I love the vintage World's Fair picture contrasted with the pop of Swarovski. I really, really love the sentimental necklace that you made for your mom. Know she's with you every time you wear it!

What a wonderful way to feature the world's fair pendant, and the floating lampwork oval is lovely! Terrific job!

These are very beautiful pieces. I love the absolute simplicity of the Wheel. It really needed nothing else then the support of the chain and the rings. Perfect. And the World's Fair evokes such a strong romantic memory of good times, great heights, being close. The black and white beads set that piece off beautifully.

A sentimental piece is always welcome for sharing. Thank you. All your pieces were lovely but I bet the one that you made your mom was the one that pleased you the most. So glad you have it to treasure.

Wonderful pieces! I especially like the "slide" pendant. Thank you for introducing me to two new etsy stores!

All 3 pieces are delightful. The world's fair pendent is a great image set off so well with the beads and chain you choose. I think the modern wheel is captivating in its simplicity. You let that lampwork ring take center stage, rightfully so. I bet your mom loved that necklace you made her. Jewelry is so much more than just adornment, its also memories of special people.

Hi Alice, I also love the World's Fair piece. There's something about a Ferris Wheel that reminds me of being on vacation and your creation took me there! Lovely!

Each piece is gorgeous! and with it's own style!! That first one is so nostalgic ... I think it is my favorite! but that second one is just so lovely with it's simplicity ... it would be pretty amazing with almost anything you paired it with! and that last one ... well, I'm just partial to shells of any kind. Alice, you were so incredibly inspired by this challenge! Not one but 3 pretty designs - and all so different. That ferris wheel pendant in the first necklace is so eye-catching and really evokes an old-timey nostalgic feeling. And I love the simplicity of the Bluehealer lampwork disk! Your final piece is just perfect for the summer - I'd love to wear it with a black sundress. You outdid yourself! :-)
