“In life, as in art, the beautiful moves in curves.” ~Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
This week our assignment is to focus on the curves that surround us in our daily life.
Searching around the house I found many beautiful curves. I love antiques and it seems there is an abundance of curves in the antiques we have acquired.
An antique claw foot tub in our spare bathroom. We found it at a salvage place in Kansas City. It's small, maybe just over four feet. Our girls liked to take their baths here occasionally when they were little.
A footed pedestal on our antique oak kitchen table.
A sweet antique iron stone pitcher.
A lovely curvy sofa passed down from my husband's grandmother.
As always, thank you for stopping by.
Please check Sally's blog to see the other participants.
Oh Alice! I would love to have a claw foot tub and that sofa! GORGEOUS curves!!!
Oh, my, Alice - I love your antiques! Especially the tub - brings so many memories: my aunt (my mom's aunt, in fact) lived in an old house and the bathroom had a beautiful ceramic mosaic on the floor and a gorgeous claw foot enameled tub.
The whole set of pictures is wonderful - thanks for sharing!
what wonderful pieces your have around your house! love the antiques with their beautiful curves!!
What wonderful indoor curves! I'm starting to wish I had chosen some indoor ones too!
Those are some gorgeous pieces! I have always loved claw feet. The apartment I was living in before I got married had a nice old claw foot tub. (I think it's the reason I moved in.)
Alice - what lovely curves you found this week! I especially like the pitcher. I have a small collection of vintage pitchers - they seem to say "hospitality."
Your photos are gorgeous but it looks like Spring is hiding somewhere behind those curves!
I love the look of an claw foot tub. Someday I will have a home with one. Curvy feet are hard to resist too, beautiful shots
Curves with memories - the best kind!
I love your antique curves! I have curves all through my house too.
You have a lovely collection of antiques. I love the claw foot table and the curvy couch....my goodness that has to be old!
How beautiful is your post! The greatest luxury of my life was a beautiful rented home with an antique tub. Morning light, bubbles, renewal -- all was the most it could be, the finest ever in that fabulous tub!
Love the tub! Wish I still had mine.. Much more comfortable than new tubs! Your post brings back memories of my house in Saskatoon!
Your really found some lovely curves in your antiques to photo this week.
Wonderful pics Alice. Thanx for sharing your antiques with us.
Isn't it wonderful to see the craftsmanship of antiques. I mean, look at all the effort into the 'foot' part of these things...areas that are not even at eye level! :) My childhood home was full of these things and I loved to look at them and play around them...but of course the thought never entered my mind that they 'wouldn't always be there'.
Gorgeous shots! I love that tub.
You definetly have some beautiful curves going on inside your home! I absolutely LOVE the tub!
The curves on that pitcher are almost obscene! lol! Lovely photos... tub reminds me of my Grandparent's house.
Nice- I am especially fond of the tub!
Oh Alice! I am loving every shot! Great curves, all with such meaning. Thank you for sharing. (I love your top photo!)
Those are beautiful pieces, Um I mean curves, love the tub!
If there is one thing I miss from my old house it is the claw foot bathtub. They are just designed for a bubble bath, candles and a good book.
Love seeing the natural curves from a time when everything was formed by hand.
