Breaking Wave is an anamorphic kinetic sculpture created for Biogen-Idec's new headquarters in Cambridge, MA. The sculpture was created by Plebian Design and Hypersonic.
I was inspired by the copper color and the repeating pattern.

I like how you were drawn to the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThese turned out Wonderfully!!! A Terrific interpretation of this months challenge!
These are so pretty and elegant, Alice... love them! I immediately saw how the copper components you chose mimic the look of all the balls when they are more in the sheet formation. I like the direction you took. And thanks for introducing me to Graceful Willow Beads... another shop for my Etsy favorites!
ReplyDeleteI love the copper components the you used. They look like the little balls that move in the art installation. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove the texture on the copper and the colours on the beads, perfect to wear all year round. A very clever interpretation of the theme...lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteCopper with turquoise is my perfect pairing of colors for jewelry. Your design is lovely and very wearable.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this color palette. Those copper charms and beads are lovely on their own but combined . . . GORGEOUS! Your interpretation is very sharp; the copper charm pattern is perfect. I love these earrings!
ReplyDeleteI really like how the lines pull your eyes through the piece and represent not only the motion of the balls but the texture too. Beautiful pair of earrings and a beautiful job reflecting the sculpture.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern on the copper pieces reminds me of the flower shape in the video. Those little dangling beads are so unique and pretty! Thank you for sharing your mini kinetic sculptures for the December We're All Ears Challenge. Check back on January 2nd for the next inspiration! Enjoy the day! Erin
