Thirty Words Thursday


The neighbors burning a large stand of grass
flames leaping
higher and higher
orange and yellow against the evening sky
smoke billowing 
and just like that the flames were gone.

    At first glance I thought this was a farm burning down! I'm glad it was a controlled burn, and still pretty cool looking.
