52 Weeks Hope

52 week badge
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
~ Emily Dickinson

This is what I see every Sunday morning at my church, and it gives
me hope.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16

One of the many stained glass windows in our church.

Up in the balcony this gorgeous window shines to passers by.

  14. Stained glass is amazing. Somehow it combines the beauty of glass art makes the images even more inspiring with the glass' sparkle and hue.

  15. Alice, what a beautiful post! And what a gorgeous church - is this a Catholic church? It looks like a nice, old church. Ours is quite modern and has more of a modern style stained glass. I just love the windows in your church, especially the anchor. I have never seen an anchor in stained glass like this.

  16. looks like a beautiful space Alice. I was in a local community centre for the first time today, the main hall had huge windows with stained glass. So pretty! I commented to the fused glass artisan whose work I was admiring and she hadn't noticed. I'm glad this stained glass isn't suffering the same fate
