My name was drawn for the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month. Jennifer Cameron generously gave us some lovely glass headpins. When mine arrived I was so excited that I forgot to snap a photo of them, so I snatched the photo from the AJE post, though mine is a bit darker blue
.
I've got a habit of making long earrings...can't help myself because I just want to jam all the wonderful beads in the that I can. But this time I forced myself to make shorter ones.
'The Ocean's Daughter' made with Jennifer's beautiful glass headpins, vintage rhinestone spacers, tiny lampwork beads and Vintaj earwires.
Thank you for stopping by. Please visit the AJE Blog to see what the others made with their headpins.
A big thanks to Jennifer for hosting and providing the headpins!
Your earrings are so pretty and so wearable - They'd be great for adding a bit of glitz to some jeans. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Alice!! I could wear these lovelies every day!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise to win those great headpins. You did them proud. Nice earrings.
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings - they do remind me of the ocean and I agree with Lesley - they would go great with jeans giving it that bling.
ReplyDeleteLove these.
ReplyDeleteI just love the way you can view the pretty copper swirl in the glass. That is just genius on Jennifer's part! I love how you styled these! And if you really couldn't help but turn them into longer earrings (my personal fave as well) then all you need to do is swing them from some pretty copper chain! Thank you for sharing your talent with us! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteI would totally wear these! I love them so much and I like the simplicity of the design (I'm not a big earring wearer).
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for participating in the design challenge!
I love the colors ! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute earrings! I love the little rhinestone spacers to add a bit of sparkle. Great job!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet earrings! I am so happy you played along this month!
ReplyDeleteso pretty, Alice! When I make earrings for myself, this is the length I go to as well!
ReplyDeleteI am also a fan of the "more is more" philosophy of earring design, Alice. This is a great way to move in the other direction, and let just a few choice components paint the picture on the tiny palette that is the earring. I have a collection of lamp-work headpins that I am afraid to use for fear of their impact being lost. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe vintage crystals and the modern copper - what a lovely contrast! I think this pair is great! (I thought water in my design as well!)
ReplyDeleteThese would be so fun to wear and they would go with everything from jeans to dresses. Cool!
ReplyDeleteLove them! Love the vintage rhinestones, great idea!
ReplyDeleteLovely earrings in my favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! I love the simplicity and how they just really let the beads shine through in your pattern!
ReplyDeleteThose headpins are amazing...love what you worked with them!
