Our assignment this week was to get outside and take our camera with us. Of course the only day I could do this was a rainy day, so I drove rather than walked.
This church has been in our community for a long time. Unfortunately it was not cared for properly and became unsafe.
They don't build churches like this anymore, and that saddens me. The congregation built another church right behind this one. It is a metal building. Now there are trees and vines growing and choking this old building.

this is a beautiful old church! it's a shame they couldn't maintain it, but i'm glad they left it standing - it's fading so gracefully... very atmospheric!

ReplyDeleteWe have a very old church in our community that has been maaintained by a community group, and is now a public museum and meeting place. Maybe they can do that with this one?
